About Victoria
Counselling with
warmth, skill &
deep care.
I am a qualified counsellor based in Inner West Sydney, helping individuals heal, grow and reclaim their sense of self — online or in person.
My Story
A path to
becoming a counsellor
My journey to counselling is rooted in a genuine belief that everyone deserves a safe space to be heard — without judgement, without pressure, and without pretence.
"I became a counsellor because I know what it feels like to search for someone who truly listens — someone who can hold space for your pain without rushing you toward resolution."
I am a degree-qualified therapist and a proud member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). Before establishing Talk Therapy with Victoria, I worked as a registered nurse for over a decade, a qualified lawyer for ten years (specialising in employment issues including bullying, harassment and grief), a senior HR manager and executive director, and most recently at a private inpatient hospital in Sydney — helping people with personality disorders, depression and anxiety to live their best lives.
My approach is warm and relational, drawing on the understanding that healing happens in connection — with another person, with nature, and ultimately with yourself. This belief is at the heart of my walk-and-talk sessions, which bring the healing power of movement and the natural world into the therapeutic space.
I work with adults navigating some of life's most challenging experiences: the aftermath of a toxic relationship, the weight of chronic anxiety, the numbness of depression, or the exhaustion of workplace stress. Whatever brings you to counselling, I meet you with respect, curiosity, and genuine care.
Based in Inner West Sydney, I offer 50-minute walk-and-talk sessions throughout the Inner West (Cooks River area), and 50-minute online sessions via Zoom for clients anywhere across Australia.
What I Believe
The values that guide every session
These aren't just words on a page — they shape every conversation, every session, and every relationship I build with my clients.
01
Safety First
Every person deserves to feel genuinely safe before they can open up. I create a consistent, boundaried space where you can show up exactly as you are.
02
Non-Judgement
There is no story too messy, no feeling too complicated, no reaction too extreme. I listen without labels, without assumptions, and without an agenda.
03
Your Pace
Healing is not a race. Sessions move at the pace you set — there is no pressure to dive deeper than you're ready for, and no timeline to meet.
04
Whole-Person Care
I consider the whole person — mind, body, history, and relationships — not just the presenting problem. You are more than your diagnosis.
05
Empowerment
The goal of counselling is not dependency — it's freedom. I work alongside you to build the insight and tools to trust yourself long after sessions end.
06
Genuine Connection
Therapeutic change happens in the relationship. I bring my full, authentic self to every session — because real connection is the foundation of real healing.
My Approach
Evidence-based,
heart-led practice
I draw on a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, weaving them together to create an approach that is as unique as each client. There is no one-size-fits-all in counselling.
My work is fundamentally relational — meaning the therapeutic relationship itself is understood as a key vehicle for healing. Alongside this, I use structured techniques to help clients process trauma, manage distressing emotions, and reshape unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour.
